I was along the Southern coast of Turkey. I had received an invitation from a friend to the world rainbow gathering that was happening up in the mountain plains. The rainbow gatherings are a group of people who form communities throughout the world who live with the intention of living a shared ideology of peace, harmony, freedom, and respect. An interesting group of people. Again, that's for another story, and getting there is another.
I was en route and the cycling was fine. Long roads with not much around, small incline, and friendly people. But the end of my route, the last leg up to the rainbow, was tough.
A 42.9 km ride, up 1,360 m. In theory, I could do this. This is similar to the Austrian Alps I crossed, I can do this but it’s going to take me all day and it’s going to be exhausting. I hadn’t much food with me besides some junk food, and my water supply was limited. Not the best start…
